App and web
How can I save a voice recording?
Your message to your child, their first laugh, or a story from Grandma: keep the sounds of your memories, too.
How do I add a recording?
Open a new or existing memory in the iOS or Android app and tap Capture your voice. Choose either:
- Start a new recording: Allow microphone access. You can pause, resume and listen to your recording before adding it.
- Choose an existing recording: Select an audio file through your phone’s file picker, for example from Files or cloud storage.
Optionally give it a title, then tap Add to memory. Juno uploads and prepares the recording. Wait until preparation finishes, then save your memory. Use the recording’s three-dot menu to rename or remove it later.
Do I need Premium? What are the limits?
Adding a recording requires Juno Premium. Each memory can contain one recording, no longer than ten minutes. Imported files must be no larger than 100 MB.
Supported formats are MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, OGG and Opus. Juno checks the file and prepares a playback version for iOS, Android and browsers. Some OGG or Opus files can only be previewed on iPhone after preparation.
How do I listen?
Open the memory and tap play. You can pause and seek forward or backward. An internet connection is required to add a recording and play your recording stored by Juno.
How does it work in my photo book?
When you enable QR codes for your photo book, the recording of each memory appears with a QR code. Scan a code with your phone camera to open the recording in a browser. No Juno app or sign-in is required to listen.
Anyone with the QR code or its link can listen to the recording. Share your book and links thoughtfully.
The QR option at checkout covers videos and audio. If a memory only contains a recording, only its audio QR code appears. Included videos each get their own additional QR code. Without the QR option, the audio card is omitted from print.
What happens if I remove a recording or Premium ends?
Removing a recording from a memory keeps its QR links in previously created books accessible. A recording you have already added remains playable after Premium ends; adding a new recording requires Premium.
To disable a QR link, open the three-dot menu of a saved recording and select Revoke QR link. That link will also stop working in printed books. Previously downloaded files cannot be revoked.
If your entire family is deleted from Juno, the recording is deleted too and its QR link stops working.
Why does it say “Preparing for playback”?
Juno checks and processes the recording in the background. Keep the memory open until the player appears. If an error occurs, try again or remove the recording. If preparation never finishes, contact support@junoapp.co.
